Motilal Nehru National Institute of Technology Allahabad, Prayagraj celebrated 50 years of glorious victory of Indian Army in Indo-Pakistan War 1971. On the occasion of completion of 50 years of Indo Pakistan War 1971, Swarnim Vijay Mashal (Victory Flame) reached MNNIT Allahabad Prayagraj under the leadership of Colonel V. V. Vaidya who presented the Swarnim Vijay Mashal to the Director of the Institute, Prof. Rajeev Tripathi. A wonderful performance of the army band and March past was done ahead of vehicle carrying Victory Flame, seeing which the people were mesmerized and hailed slogans of Jai Hind and Bharat Mata ki Jai. Director of the Institute, Prof. Rajeev Tripathi, welcomed the guests. He stated that On December 16, 1971, the Indian Armed Forces achieved a stellar and historic victory over the Pakistan Armed Forces and it was also the biggest surrender of any army after World war II. Swarnim Vijay Varsh (Victory Year) is being celebrated in memory of this glorious victory. Director of the Institute, Prof. Rajeev Tripathi thanked the Army for this opportunity and said that it is a matter of pride for the Institute. He felicitated Col V.V. Vaidya, Col V.K. Seth, Captain Ahana, Subedar Jagdish, Subedar R.T Yadav and other ranks. On the said occasion, the administrative officers of the Institute along with the officers of the Army, teachers, employees and a large number of technocrats were present.
